The 49ers' defensive coaching staff is getting restocked. On Tuesday, the 49ers hired defensive line coach Kris Kocurek, 40, who had the same role with the Dolphins in 2018. They also are expected to hire former Denver defensive coordinator Joe Woods, 48, as their defensive passing-game coordinator. Kocurek, the Lions' defensive line coach from 2010 through '17, became available when Miami fired head coach Adam Gase after the season. Kocurek replaces Jeff Zgonina, who was fired after coaching the defensive linemen the past two seasons. Kocurek had a brief NFL career as a seventh-round pick of the Seahawks in 2001.
