49ers cornerback Richard Sherman predicts NFL lockout after 2020 season

Cornerback Richard Sherman, who was elected the 49ers' player representative Wednesday, predicted another lockout would occur when the collective bargaining agreement between players and owners expires after the 2020 season. "It's going to happen," Sherman said. Sherman, who is a vice president of the NFL Players Association's executive committee, was asked why he was so certain. "Because there was a lockout before," Sherman said. "We don't plan on changing anything about the deal that we currently have right now — so I don't think it's going to be negotiated before the end of the CBA. So it's going to cause a lockout, and we'll go from there." The owners locked out the players for four months during the 2011 offseason.
