Three weeks after John Lynch repeatedly said he wanted 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to be with the team for a "long, long time," the general manager confirmed today that steps have been taken to make sure that happens. Speaking on NFL Network from the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., Lynch confirmed the 49ers are working to sign Garoppolo to a long-term deal. "We believe we found the right guy," Lynch said. "Now, the challenge is getting Jimmy signed. We're working hard towards that. We'll see. I think he wants to be with us and we want him there. So I think it makes too much sense not to happen … it's just a matter of getting it done.
