Former Browns cornerback K'Waun Williams had four contract offers, and now he's chosen his next team. Williams is signing a one-year contract with the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The Jets, Lions, Vikings and Dolphins all showed interest in Williams as well. Williams entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the...

49ers' K'Waun Williams should be a go against the Cowboys

In case anyone missed it, the San Francisco 49ers starting slot corner K'Waun Williams opted out of the Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams because he still wasn't feeling quite right after being on the COVID/Reserve list earlier that week. NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco appeared on KNBR Monday and brought up the fact that Williams was out. "K'waun Williams was on the COVID list, and he just didn't feel right, and he was cleared off the Covid list, so it wasn't that he was held out of the game because of Covid, but he just didn't feel right. K'Waun Williams, one of the best slot corners in the league, came off the reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday, the day before the San Francisco 49ers' regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Rams. He did not play in that game, though. A report from NBC Sports Bay Area indicated the cornerback wasn't feeling well enough to do so. Williams has not been listed on any practice participation reports this week, leading to the assumption that he has been a full participant and should play in Sunday's playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan isn't revealing anything at this point. "K'Waun's one of the top nickels in the

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided status updates for a number of players after practice on Friday, including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo—but he still stopped short of naming him the starter for this weekend's game against the Los Angeles Rams (Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT, FOX). Shanahan stuck to his stance of not announcing a starter between Garoppolo and rookie Trey Lance in order to give Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris more to think about, but he was clearly encouraged with what he saw from Garoppolo at practice throughout the week after missing last Sunday's start against the Houston Texans with a thumb injury. "He had a good week—a good week of practice when he was in there. I feel good with where he's at right now," Shanahan
