The San Francisco 49ers lost their seventh-straight game tonight and at 1-7, remain slotted for the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. That's a minor bright spot for a team that has not had much to celebrate this season. Monday night's matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks will not have an impact on the 49ers' current spot.

Of course, the number one spot belongs to the winless Cleveland Browns, who lost their ninth-straight game today. How high the 49ers will actually select will be determined by the rest of the season and their final record.

Below is the current draft order, based on playoff seeding (21-32), record, and strength of schedule (SOS), for all 32 first-round spots if the season ended today. Of course, the order of playoff teams would eventually be determined by the completed playoff picture.

7-round mock draft from The Athletic sees 49ers fortifying defense early

By David Bonilla
Apr 17

Analyst Dane Brugler recently revealed his seven-round mock draft for The Athletic, forecasting all 257 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, set to kick off next week. "Piecing together a mock like this is time consuming, but I enjoy the exercise, because it allows me to focus on each team's needs, organizational trends and prospect-team pairings that make sense based on '30' visits, league buzz and overall interest," Brugler wrote. Most expect the 49ers to address the trenches early in the draft, and Brugler has the team doing that. It's just not on the offensive side of the football. In fact, Brugler doesn't have San Francisco
