Look at this umpire. Talk about baiting him.

Ridiculous.

Who does that ump think he is? His dad? Talk about a power trip.
Giants have some serious problems!
I'm not giving up hope on Bart yet. Way too early to make a judgement
Put a runner on base for 6 straight innings. And then proceed to not bring in that runner.

Sounds about right.
2 runs in 2 days. Since the great road trip, they've been outscored 41-20 and lost 5 games. And a couple to a s**tty Washington team.

About to trot that AAA lineup out tonight against another good team. Feel bad for Webb.

Bart is so bad. We should have known when Farhan drafted a catcher.
Exactly although Bailey hasnt shown he can hit so far either. He is hitting .167 in High A Ball

Yeah Farhan's drafting has been a bit worrisome too. Bailey has been horrible and Bishop has been hurt/really bad too.

We should've traded him last year.

Exactly what I was advocating for last year.

Same. After 2020 I just didn't see anything that made me confident he was going to be good. His best attribute is supposed to be power, yet he didn't hit a single HR in over 100 AB's. Career .344 SLG….

I agree. But his confidence has got to be an issue now. I wasn't paying attention to the game a few nights ago, but I think it was the first one against the Dodgers. I had heard that Kapler pinch hit for him. That isn't good. I don't know what the situation was. I wasn't following the game closely. But when I heard Jon Miller say that Kapler had sent in a pinch hitter for Bart, the first thought that went through my mind is "that isn't good."

A prolonged hitting slump is one thing. Losing the confidence of the manager is another. Although it probably did happen at some point, I cannot recall a situation where Bruce Bochy ever sent in a pinch hitter for Buster Posey.

The Dodgers were bringing in Daniel Hudson, a right hander, so Kapler took the right handed Bart out for the lefty/righty matchup with Joc, who is also the teams best hitter right now. I don't think that particular move had anything to do with Bart's current status. People can stop measuring Bart up against Posey, because its an impossible standard.

Agree. Kapler PHs a lot for matchups. Nothing about Bart in that situation. And agree on the Posey measurement. Its impossible and not fair to Bart.

But I also haven't seen anything in Bart's limited 2 seasons to make me think he's ever going to live up to where he was drafted. So I guess we all need to get over that. Hopefully he adapts, but right now he doesn't adjust well at the plate, doesn't seem to hit breaking balls well, and doesn't block the ball well behind the plate. Just overall inconsistent. If I were pitching to him, I would work the corners, keep it low and limit fastballs. And I wouldn't be afraid to steal bases on him either.

I think this is a true statement. I do agree with you. Unfortunately, in sports, measurements happen. Steve Young was subjected to the same kind of measurement when he replaced Joe Montana. I think that largely stopped after the 1994 Super Bowl, but it did happen a lot in the years prior.

After posting this I read that he is dealing with a thumb injury. I just thought it was weird that on ESPN it shows nothing about him being on the Giants and Wikipedia mentions nothing of the Giants and says he is a free agent.
