My sources within the org have told me Lazardo is a toxic presence locker in the room. That weighed into the decision to move him.

Don't take it so personal - they have got to be the worst uniforms in MLB history. Just my opinion.

I love the tradition of baseball but I am against outlawing the shift. Hell, if a team wants to play with 7 infielders and 0 outfielders let them do it. It comes down to the teams teaching their hitters to go the other way and to bunt for hits. If they do that enough teams will stop using the shift so much.
Rubs, I get your point about seeing balls that we used to think were hits that no longer are. It certainly can be frustrating. But the hitters can see where the defense is positioning them. Learn how to make them pay!

Originally posted by Niners99:Completely disagree. Hitters can learn how to use the entire field . And it certainly doesnt take away the integrity of the game.

Hitters shouldn't have to re-tool their swing to try and poke hits down the 3B line just to beat the shift. Hitters have an approach to hit the ball hard somewhere. Most guys cant control where they want to hit it. With certain lefty power hitters, its doing the defense a favor to start trying for a grounder to 3B/SS. Just play the LF in and hold to a single, and then a star power hitting lefty is now being asked to just slap oppo singles to "make them pay" for the shift. Most guys ignore the shift and just try to hit it hard.
I think it takes away from the integrity of the game to shift. There are reasons for illegal defenses/shifts in other sports.

There's a lot of media chatter about Joey Bart for Kris Bryant today, but I have this on good authority: the Giants are backing off any trade proposal with the Cubs in which they insist on Joey Bart.
