IF Bryant comes to the Giants...
Would you rather
Give up a known commodity(ies) and get to see Bryant for a couple months (prior to potentially investing heavy $) to add to a first place team making a run
Or
Wait til next year, sign him to a big contract and giving up a 1st pick due to Qualifying Offer
Give me the former. With the caveat that you withhold players that you feel like are franchise altering (Luciano). I think there are more benefits than drawbacks there, imo. Risk of not re-signing, getting poor production, players you give away could be great.
Benefits. Instant roster boost. Proven all-star/MVP talent in prime years, try before you buy, keep future 1st rounder. Add to a team that is 99% likely to make the post-season per Baseball Reference.

If the Giants get Bryant, win the world series and he signs elsewhere, would you care? I wouldn't. Good investment, imo.

Originally posted by Garce:Sure. But I think that is a big longshot even with Bryant. If he doesnt cost too much then I am all for bringing him in. I would probably trade Hunter Bishop for him. But I would say no to moving Bart or Ramos. Not ready to give up on either of those 2 guys.

Not happening with Boras as his agent, he likes his clients to get teams on a bidding war unless its some ridiculous number

I was looking at random stuff online a few weeks ago, looking at famous people from my high school, then I saw that your boy over there went to Vaca High. Did you go to school with him?
