Well, s**t. I start watching the game and something bad happens. Last time I watched a game the Giants went on a horrendous streak. My bad.

Originally posted by TheXFactor:Nice game but it hardly means he's broken out of his slump. Devers had one good game the other day too. I look at trends over several games not just what happened last night. Example: Rogers and Doval both gave up runs last night even thought they've been the 2 best relievers for most of the season. That doesn't mean they suck now.

he needed that BADLY
Walks are an issue with him. It seems like he walks at least one batter in half his appearances. Then he has trouble once he does. If he gets the firs tbatter out he usually does okay. We've had a couple other closers that did this a lot too. Part of why Kuiper started calling Giants games torture.
Rogers has been great for most of the year but he doesn't fit the closers role. He's underrated because he doesn't throw hard but look at his numbers and he's been really effective. He throws hitters off balance and then they can come in with a hard thrower. The best thing about him is he doesn't walk many guys. That's my pet peeve with relievers. Throw strikes and make them hit it. You have at least a 75% chance that they will make an out. His weird angle and slow stuff makes for a lot of weal contact. Walks are the easiest way to lose a lead.

Just got home and turned the game on, saw the score, turned it right off. 3 seconds of viewing time today.
