Welp might be the beginning of the end or the start of a new run.

I think kerr leaves after next season too (barring a championship).

just hope it's not dunleavy

"With Myers' departure, Warriors owner Joe Lacob is expected to seek more prominent roles for his son, Kirk, an executive VP of Basketball Operations, and VP of Basketball Operations Mike Dunleavy Jr."

The nepotism makes me a little nervous.

Ya if he tries to run this like a a venture capitalist firm he'll sink it into the ground

why do you hate dunleavy?

Let's hope Lacob doesn't turn into another Jerry Jones.

Lacob is going to get booed again if he f***k this up. His sons are not the answer, nor is Dunleavy.

Anyone who boos Lacob is an idiot. 4 titles and willing to spend his money makes him a Hall of Fame owner.

We shall see.

Agreed

Although he would be the easier target for the fans to boo than the players/coaches

We shall see? We have seen.
thank you, Bob!
s**tty news. I kind of think its because of the aging core guys. tough decisions need to be made soon with draymond and klay and he doesnt want that on his head. let dunleavey do it since we already hated him as a player and then cut him and get a real GM lol. I reallllly dislike dunleavey from my childhood. his 20 point game followed by two weeks of sucking for years got old really fast

Billionaires have a way of losing their minds as they age. Putting your kid in the role of GM is a great example of stupid ideas that folks with lots of money can get away with because no one around them can say no. I hope it doesn't go that direction.

The Warriors organization takes good care of their players, and Curry is a big center of gravity. But if the team is managed by a fool . . .

This season was a mess. Poole's contract looks disastrous, and we can't ignore the awful bench play for much of the season and the team's historically bad road performance. Age will catch up to the core and behind it there's a lot of uncertainty. Let's also not forget that the new arena needs to keep those fancy suites filled in the midst of a tech sector meltdown. Who can blame Myers for wanting out in the midst of all this?
Bob Meyer's biggest contributions were his relations with the players. He admitted that he wasn't great at drafting. His best pick was Draymond but other than that he whiffed on Wiseman and has a couple of guys in Moody and Poole who could turn out good. He's done a decent job of signing free agents but that group seems to change every year.

Draymond is probably going to miss him the most. Eventually this dynasty will come to an end like all of them do. When Steph retires it will be hard to replace him. On the other hand, having an owner like Lacob that isn't afraid to spend money will help them rebuild. They may suffer for a couple of years but that's okay given what they've done for the fans recently.
I dont think Joe Lacob is going to give his son the job. I actually have no idea why Kirk Lacob himself would even entertain the idea of taking over as GM. He should be waiting to take over as owner.

I think Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody not getting much playing time was one of the things that drove Bob out. hes ina s**tty spot where hes drafting these dudes and trying to do right by them and build the future and Kerr didnt want to play them because the pressure was on to win now while they still have steph klay and draymond. I hope the dubs dont fold and let steph go out into retirement in a whimper. I really hope we push to trade for a star this offseason to take some heat off of steph. I dont think Lacob will let the dynasty die if steph, draymond and klay still have juice left. All three had great years, they just did not play well against the lakers (all year its been the same story)

Wiseman had injury problems which retarded his development. He was really green having only played a couple games in college. He has offensive skills but the Warriors don't need offense. They need a rim protector and rebounder. They need a guy like Bogut that can pass well and set screen. Wiseman could do those things so they traded him. I hope they keep Kuminga and Moody. Both could be good players in another year or so.
I'm rooting for Poole if he gets moved

seems like everyone in the organization has soured on him
