I believe a few times asked about him during the Duffy trade. I would be OK with trading Panik, but I would hope he stayed healthy and produced to up his stock. Right now he's just a contact hitter with a really good glove. But he has the potential of being a .300 hitter with GG defense.
I know I am hard on Panik and people are going to judge me for making comments like this because they know I dont like the guy....
But at what point are the "really good defense" or "GG caliber play" narratives going to go away? He had a good defensive 2016. He has been a bottom tier defender the last two seasons, ranking in the low 20s and below in all relevant statistical categories (and often times well below the low 20s). At what point do we look at 2016 as the outlier and not the norm?
I have no desire to have a conversation with you about Panik because it will do no good. It's like discussing Belt with skeet. I'll pass.
