We got this guy to replace him. https://www.nhl.com/sharks/news/sharks-sign-defenseman-nikolai-knyzhov/c-308168876

Not being entirely facetious it could be true. We certainly seemed to be going with a youth movement everywhere.

It doesn't. Think it was a typo.
Kevin Lebanc back on a 1 year deal.

$1M for Lebanc. Not sure how DW does it.

Oops, I pasted the wrong link and didn't even realize until now.. lol. https://www.nhl.com/sharks/news/sharks-sign-forward-jonny-brodzinski/c-308168888 I was being mostly sarcastic though, but my comment about it possibly being true was poking at the fact that we have no money to sign anyone of significant relevance.

And he's an RFA again after this year? Hm. Well. We have roughly 5+ million now to do the following:

- Re-sign UFA Joe Thornton
- Re-sign RFAs Gambrell, Suomela, Letunov, DeSimone, and Wood

No room for Marleau after that. What would Thornton take to come back? Let's just say each of those RFAs gets an average of 800K. That's $4 million right there. Unless we move Melker and/or Dell, we still are really restricted right now.

this year will be a real youth movement. We need young guys to step up big time.

I really wish the Seattle expansion draft was in 2020. It would make who we protect much easier, since as of today we would only have 7 signed forwards, 3 signed D, and 1 signed goalie then... lol.
Multiple rookies who look really promising have been re-signed:

Nick DeSimone: https://www.nhl.com/sharks/news/sharks-re-sign-defenseman-nick-desimone/c-308244194

Kyle Wood: https://www.nhl.com/sharks/news/sharks-re-sign-defenseman-kyle-wood/c-308244096

Maxium Letunov: https://www.nhl.com/sharks/news/sharks-re-sign-forward-maxim-letunov/c-308244350

"Nick continued to improve his overall game last season, finishing in the top-10 in scoring amongst league blueliners and developing into one of the AHL's top two-way defensemen," said Wilson.

Wood, 23, played in 68 games for the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the Sharks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, during the 2018-19 season, registering 35 points (six goals, 29 assists) and a plus-16 rating.

"Max had a very productive first professional season with the Barracuda and took some big strides in his overall game last season," said Wilson. "He showed that he could translate his size, hockey sense and high-end speed to the professional level and we look forward to watching him compete for a spot on our team this coming season."
