Melbourne were only stripped of the titles they won in the years they were in breech of the cap. Unlike Olympic drug cheats players were not required to return premiership medals rings etc and the titles were not awarded to the runners up.
Im sure the eels are just praying they will be stripped of the two wooden spoons they won while in breech only fair they be erased from the records.
Haven't kept up to date with the breeches but I think you will find most years the eels have reported they have been in breech but are disputing by how much, a far cry from what Melbourne did with hidden payments totalling $3,780,000
Most years up to half the teams in the comp report themselves in breech.
Clubs have been fined 79 times since 2000.
