So Boris Diaw is vacationing in the Pyrenees as training camp starts (excused), and Popovich made some cracks during media day that he was gonna come back fat, at least at 275. Word got back to Diaw and he responded on Instagram with "only 1 glass a day and daily workouts" and this tremendous pic. It's like U Mad Bro and The Most Interesting Man in the World had a baby.

Rockets beat the Heat, 5-0 now, a much better team then 2013-14, Parsons wasn't needed. Ariza is better IMO.

I was never that upset about Parsons, Morey's consistently found guys like him later in the draft, remember Budinger? That said the bench is far worse than last year. Hardin and Howard can't go all season playing these minutes. And I have zero faith in McHale being able to develop one.

So let me update myself here. Kings are undefeated and the Lakers suck?

Don't the Lakers have all the money to sign whoever they want? What? Nobody wants to play with Kobe? I think Shaq is sabotaging and talking to the top players in the league.

There are lot of reasons why players don't want to play for the Lakers right now. Eventually that will change because Lakers are a storied franchise.

Having said that, what Durant and Lebron have been able to do playing in small-market teams (marketability wise) proves that NBA has reached a level where stars don't HAVE to play in LA, Boston, NY, Chicago, etc. to get full recognition.

IMO - right now - lack of leadership and vision for the future in the FO is probably the biggest reason.

Then, the way Dwight was treated in LA will give any star player some pause. Kobe isn't ready to concede any control and still wants everyone on the roster to do things his way. And when things went south - Dwight was thrown under the bus.

So, star players will come to Lakers when they believe that FO has figured out how to put a winning team on the floor and when Kobe leaves or is ready to give up the control.

Hollins was available long before he went to Brooklyn and he's 10x the coach Scott is.
