Strange that all the minor league rosters are set but I don't see where Clayton Blackburn landed. Injured???

Didn't he get waived? Or was that someone else?

They wouldnt release Blackburn.

Mystery solved...somewhat. Blackburn's brother passed away recently (condolences to him and his family). So he's probably headed to or already at extended spring training after missing some time.
Looks like thru the first turn in the rotation we will be running 6 guys

Vogey going in game two in place of Peavy... Dude needs more time I guess

That's concerning

Everyone on our staff has some level of concern.

Bum is coming off pitching 270 innings. Cain is coming off surgery. Hudson is 40. Peavy ended last year crappy, and now isnt ready. Lincecum hasnt been able to hold a rotation spot for a full year in a while, Vogelsong is 38.

Petit is the only guy who isnt injury prone, overworked, inconsistent, or old.

Its nice that we have 2 spare SP, but we really need a lot of best case scenarios to happen. Ill feel a lot better if Cain looks like hes back to his old self.

It seems like a joke that Bruce Bochy has never won Manager of the Year with the Giants. I dont like how they automatically give it to the manager with the crappiest roster that ended up with a good season.

That same logic is how Jerry Sloan somehow coached for 24 years and never won the award.

I don't think his team had the best record in the national league. They were always a team (s) that were more glamorous than the giants in the regular season.

But I don't care for that stuff, i care way more about october. Remember, dusty has won the award three times.....

It shouldnt be about who has the best record, or who did the most with a team everyone thought was bad. It should just be "Who was the best manager in the game this year." Maybe have fellow managers vote on the award, or extend it to include the postseason.

It just doesn't seem accurate to watch Matt Williams win the award with the bonehead mistakes he has made. Honestly, with all due respect to a former Giants great, a LOT of managers couldve guided that team to the best record. Theyre loaded.

After that Giants/Nats series was over, if you told someone Williams was going to win the award over Bochy, they would say "well that doesnt make much sense..."

Boch has three things to say about that ...

Catchers (2): Posey, Sanchez
Infielders (6): Arias, Belt, Crawford, Duffy, McGehee, Panik
Outfielders (4): Aoki, Blanco, Maxwell, Pagan

The Giants announced they have designated infielder Ehire Adrianza for assignment. The move was necessitated because Adrianza is out of options.

Duffy earned his spot. Good decision.

I was surprised, but it's the right choice. He only has a glove. Someone will claim him though.

RIP Lon Simmons
