People made a big deal about that, it really isn't. Barca is still a class organization, and Madrid used to be classy under Raul. Not so much today.

Haha, Real has beaten Barca once in like last 10-12 meetings(in OT) and not once this season, so sleeping at night has not been a problem for Barca fans in a long time. It sucks that Barca won't win the La Liga this season - but CL is the biggest trophy and I really hope these teams meet in Semis.

I know Barca is expected to win every trophy every year - and have won plenty of silverware this season, but injuries, no. of games, and Real playing better against other teams caught up to them.

To be fair it was the most recent and I cant remember any other one that stands out in my mind. lol. I remember David Villa had a awesome free kick but that was in the CL.

Yea, I understand. It was easily one of the best goals scored recently in La Liga. The goal by Dani Alves against Real in Copa was better, but it was in Copa. The dip on Ronaldo's kick was ridiculous. I don't know how he does that...but there was a goal in a Valencia game (I THINK) - scored by their player (can't remember who) which was simply brilliant. I'll try to find the video if I can. But, Ronaldo's goal was a thing of beauty as well.

Lyon edge by Apoel and Barca handle Leverkusen.

There is something inside me that tells me Apoel will beat Lyon and advance to the next stage when they play again. They were so gritty when they played IN FRANCE. Plus the goal came off a wicked deflection to boot. If i were a betting man Id lay some money on Apoel.

This game is a perfect example against ppl who feel Messi needs Xavi and Iniesta to be good. Xavi didnt play and Iniesta was half injured and 1/4th as good as he usually is and played 60 minutes. I can't remember another player who can pass and score as well as Messi. IMO, he is the best passer in the game today - yes, better than Xavi and Iniesta - and is in top 3 as a scorer (Ronaldo being the best pure goal scorer in the World).

Benfica was always going to have a tough time at Zenit...Arsenal is crap. I watched that game, it's time for Arsenal to go out and get some veterans on that team. Their young talent isn't all that great. Wenger is only himself to blame for not going out and getting the right players in summer. They MUST get Hazard and sign at least 2 vets who can start for them on a consistent basis.

We played ok at times, i thought we were on top for most of the second half but none of our moves came off. And the goals we conceded were comical. I hope they get a grip and take this in Lisbon. Especially with no Aimar and maybe no Rodrigo. Hopefully he won't be out too long. We missed his pace for sure. Cardozo was a no show, although he grabbed his usual goal. I guess we should take the two away goals as a plus. Still, Maxi's mistake at the end.

I have no doubt that we can get the result we need on a proper playing surface. Especially after being on that joke of a field they had out there.

I agree...I think Benfica will be fine - considering all they need is 1-0 win to advance. I watched only a few minutes of the game, so I can't comment on that, but yes - a champions league match shouldn't be played on a surface like that.
