The Carl Landry watch is on. Almost halftime and he hasn't played. Trade in the works?
Wojnarowski from Yahoo mentioned the Hornets (Marcus Thornton?) as a possibility for Landry.

Kings involved in serious trade talks regarding Landry so he is being held out of tonight's game.

Oh boy, we get to learn the name of the player who will be traded at next years trade dealine. So giddy. How long has Petrie been flipping this?

Deal not official, but looks like it's New Orleans.

New Orleans' Marcus Thornton and David Andersen heading to Sacto in deal. Not sure if $ involved. Trade call in the morning.

I like it, we are going to need someone who can fill in for Reke right now probably the rest of the season(even though it doesn't really matter) and we finally got someone who can shoot the ball. The inability to hit open shots has killed us in plenty of games this year and IMO if we had to more guys who were good shooters, we'd have 10-13 more wins right now. We have lost so many close games. It also hurts our bigs because the other team collapses on them.
If the Maloofs let the team stay in Sac IMO we have to be optomistic. The team could be pretty good next year with some salary cap room and another high pick(personally I'd consider trading it for a vet). If this current arena deal stays somewhat on track and people are in position to make a decision, a resurgence next year could get enough momentum in the city to get the new arena done and keep the team. A healthy Reke+2nd year Cousins+resign Dalembert, another year for Casspi and the other young guys could actually be pretty good.

I like this trade alot, it gives us a good shooting SG along with Garcia, and I am sure Anderson is just an expiring contract b/c he is garbage
So what does the starting lineup look like now?
Evans-Beno-Jeter-Head
Thorton-Garcia-Taylor
Greene-Casspi
Thompson-Jackson-Anderson
Cousins-SammieD-Whiteside
It seems like we have too many PGs still, maybe we try to move Head or Beno for a forward?

FWIW, a lot of Hornets fans were upset about losing Thornton.
I like what he can bring. Part of me is disappointed that we turned Kevin Martin into Thornton and cap space. But I guess we'll just have to see if anything significant is added this offseason.
Gotta hope Thornton starts, especially with Tyreke out. Thornton has produced in limited starting experience (19 PPG, 45% FG in 17 career starts).
Too bad it didn't work out with Landry. He's a good dude though, hope he succeeds in NOLA.
And it looks like Andersen may be out of the deal, and we'll get cash instead. Good.
All in all, it seems like a pretty insignificant deal. Thornton is a restricted free agent, so there's always a chance he shines enough to earn another deal. But if he walks...useless trade.

I hope they throw Thornton right in. I could see Westphal giving Taylor a few more starts while Thornton gets settled, but in the long run, it wouldn't make much sense. I think Cisco will be a reserve when he gets back. Casspi has stolen the starting SF spot, and Cisco will be a nice piece on the 2nd unit at 2/3.
