He CAN play PF, but he is MUCH better suited at SF. I think that is a big reason why his play dipped a bit this year. Starting the season (til Gordon started to pick up his play), Skiles used Harris at the 4 and he just wasn't the same. If he can stay at the 3, you have a nice young player w/ some pretty damn good potential. If he doesn't, you're stuck w/ the contract he just signed in the offseason.

As I've stated before, he was one of my players in all of the NBA, so I'll continue to follow him in Detroit.

If you have a few minutes, check this out:

We don't really have PFs. Iliyasova has started almost all the games. Tolliver is the main backup. Morris has been a nice addition at the 3 and Stanley Johnson has been good off the bench. As long as Harris can shoot a little bit from the 4 spot is really what we need. Drummond grabs nearly every rebound anyways

Agreed with the bolded. Drummond is a better rebounder than Vucevic, so you guys may be able to get away with more having him at the 4. That is on the defensive side of the ball though. Harris is 6'9" and sometimes struggles with the larger defenders. He can do a little bit of everything, but overall is much better suited playing at SF.

Up to 40 posts in this thread now and he hasn't provided anything worthwhile yet.

I wonder how long he'll continue to embarrass himself.

Maybe I'll break out the PMs of other people laughing at him.

I think you should. Lets see them.

I'll save em for a rainy day. You're entertaining me enough. Your basketball talk is almost as bad as your baseball talk. I've had some good laughs at your expense today.

This makes zero sense. If you've got multiple PMs from people laughing at how wrong John is, they'd be relevant now, not later on down the road.

He's a slow typist. Give him a few more hours.

Interesting trade. Looks more like another rebuilding project, but at least the team doesn't have to worry about that Harris contract now.

Finally. Losing the Harris contract is interesting considering the free agency after this season.

Who are the big FA's that will be available?

http://hoopshype.com/2016/01/16/nba-free-agency-2016-the-top-players/

Some restricted and some w/ player options, but there is a lot.

To add onto what I was referring to:

The Magic currently being a non-playoff team (3.5 games back) and acquiring two veterans like Jennings and Ilyasova is a useful move for this season. Jennings may actually be the best overall point guard on the roster at the moment because of Elfrid Payton's inconsistencies, but at worst you just found an effective backup point guard for the playoff push. Jennings is coming off ACL repair, so there are injury concerns and conditioning issues with him, but if the Magic wanted to they could flip C.J. Watson to a team for a second-round pick.

Ilyasova adds a 3-point shooting option to the Magic, who have been league average but also dependent on shooting a high percentage to be successful this season. The question is whether or not he can find consistency back under Scott Skiles as a coach.

The main thing this deal does for Orlando is gives it a bit of flexibility with the roster. Jennings is an expiring contract and the deal for Ilyasova in 2016-17 isn't guaranteed except for $400,000. The Magic could walk into this offseason with an extra $16 million or so they weren't planning on having prior to this trade.

Article feels up pretty much exactly how I feel regarding the deal.

Correct. That was just from the article.
John, what's your take on Tobias? We need some knowledge to share with our resident Piston fan Crabman.

I'd honestly like to hear his thoughts though. Or even know if he knows who Tobias Harris is.

DAMN.

Stoney, since you're scoring, do you think JRG has overtaken John? I mean, he's making a strong comeback. I hope John comes in soon...

No, let John win. I was just saying that because the only player outside of Golden State he has proven he knows is Zach LaVine.
