Lol, yep ARNAZ BATTLE, he wasn't the best player, probably below average, but I loved him at Notre Dame, was super pumped when we drafted him, he did ok, but him as a returner,
not sure what the staff at the time was thinking, I can't remember if it was Erickson or Nolan as HC. I know he was drafted in 2003, but I can't remember the coach, so long ago, I forget so much stuff it's not even funny lol.
For a 6th rounder pick, Arnaz far exceeded expectations. I know there was plenty to forget from this era, but these were definitely the dark days.
I remember meeting my Brother at the bar to watch the games and telling each other we'd be happy to win 8 games...
He was drafted under Erickson and Donahue. Didn't play a lot until Nolan. That said, the roster was in shambles during that stretch (2004 to ~2008). Most of our starters would be backups on any other team. Remember JTO winning the QB job when Martz was the OC?
Anyhow, I didn't mean to dredge up those horrible memories, except to say I was also a really big fan of Arnaz. Esp in those dark days, he was sort of a bright spot. I think he would have been pretty good on a competent team.
