We probably won't.

Evans should be back after the bye. Same with Deebo and Demarcus Robinson. Stribling in a few weeks.

Im all for adding a legit WR but there are none available.
How about we look at the worst replacement level players on the team and look to upgrade them at the same time as looking at who will be back.

IMO Connor Colby, Ji'Ayir Brown, Returner Jacob Cowing, Pinero and Jack Jones are the weak links on the team.

WR and DE are needs but Bosa will be back at DE possibly Sam O towards the end of the year. Evans, Deebo, Robinson and Stribling will all be back at WR. Realistically there aren't any guys that can step in and be a top option unless Dallas wants to trade Pickens.

-Hobbs could replace Jones or Upton Stout needs to stay healthy
-We have no one to replace Cowing at PR and he is statistically the worst returner in the league. It's a matter of time before he costs us a game.
-Pinero needs to have competition brought in ASAP. His missed kicks are killing us
-As for Colby and Brown we don't have anyone to replace them. Sigle is decent but redundant with Mustapha. Get a guard and a legit center field FS and this team will be much better.

Transactions:

Trade Connor Colby, a 2027 3rd and conditional 2028 3rd for Quentin Nelson

Trade Ji'Ayir Brown and a 2027 4th for Budda Baker

Trade Jacob Cowing and a 2028 6th for Britain Covey

Eddy Pinero - Sign a vet for competition

Cut Jack Jones - Activate Nate Hobbs

Cut Brandin Cooks - Activate Demarcus Robinson

Our weakest links on the team are replaced with Pro Bowl veterans. Imagine Trent Williams and Quentin Nelson lined up next to each other. Wow
I am cutting Cowing before Cooks dude is a worthless bum for the most part.

Get us a WR plz, like now thx
An Emmanuel Sanders type trade would be amazing. Possibly Jerry Jeudy could fit the bill, league thinks he's done, but might have some juice on a good team.

Quentin Nelson is in a contract year, I know we don't pay guards but could rent him and see if he's good enough for us to break our structure.

Maybe get Buck back, though our whole D-Line might be fixed by getting Bosa back.

Lynch needs to go into deal searching mode with the premise that bosa is coming back and evans will not last the season.

Agree with almost everything,... the only thing I disagree is Brown as one of the weak links,... he's been playing pretty well (though he had a tough game yesterday, but it was an horrendous overall performance) and 30yo-Baker wouldn't be any improvement IMO,.... apart from the fact that I doubt very much that Zona were trading him to a division foe

Reinforcements are coming after the bye in both the WR and DE groups,... and the biggest improvement could come at LG where the 49ers should try hard to get Nelson IMO

Cowing is a liabilty both in ST and the offense,... he has had a knack to choose always the worst option when catching punts so they got him the whole game fair-catching (or he was so scared that he didn't dare to anything else),... but it's the same thing in the offense,... BP doesn't trust him (nor Cooks) coz he still runs the routes wrongly or has the wrong timing (same as Cooks),.... in yesterday's first INT he gave up running when Purdy was scrambling to his side

I think it's a given that when DRob and Hobbs return both Jack Jones and B. Cooks will be out of the 53

And Pineiro needs to cut those easy PAT mistakes,... it's been every weekend already,.... sign someone to the PS to compete with him and if he doesn't improve to substitute him

I would add a trade for a run stopper DT,.... yesterday the defense held in Robinson quite well but at the price of commiting too many defenders and leaving Pennix easy short throws he took advantage of
A'Shawn Robinson could be a potential trade and wouldn't be very expensive

Trade for Quentin Nelson. Do whatever it takes honestly.

Trade for a pass rusher. I don't know for who, Kahlil Mack comes to mind, but our pass rush without Bosa is hot and cold. It was freezing cold yesterday. As much as a beast Bosa is you simply can't count on him to be healthy. Need someone down the stretch.

Trade for Juan Jennings. He's a poor man version of Mike Evans and can spell Mike Evans on plays and the offense wouldn't skip a beat.

3 trades is pretty unrealistic in the NFL and dont think its ever been done but those are my trades i would try to make. Deforest Buckner would be nice too but he's not a huge need right now.

This is what I'm doing if I'm GM going into the bye:

1) Cut Eddy
He's been the worst in the NFL unfortunately this year and the late miss was one of many mistakes helping cost us a game – almost cost us last week too.
REPLACEMENT: I'd give Graham Gano or Matt Prater a look.

2) Cut Jack Jones
If he's not getting burned, he's getting penalties, every single week.
REPLACEMENT: Activate Nate Hobbs off IR and play Prysock over him in the meantime.

3) Trade for pass rush help
Without Bosa, this group seems lost when they face quality OL. Our IDL got no pressure today either. They'd be screwed if they lost him or White for long.
ADDITION: Look into adding Buckner or Mack, if not both, honestly.. If possible.

4) Cut WR Cooks
Really been a non factor since arriving, and has had penalties every single week since starting, on top of being absolutely horrific as a blocker. Watkins needs to hold onto stuff better but at this point needs to take all his snaps. With Deebo, Evans, and Robinson all coming back, there's no room for Cowing either soon, when you factor the top 6 should be Evans, Samuel, Robinson, Kirk, Watkins, Stribling shortly after.

We're not going to cut Eddy imo. Yes the FG% and the XP% is alarming but the only FGs he missed have been 50+. Certainly you want him to make those but it's also somewhat understandable.

I do have concerns about the mental state of kickers and their ability to get the yips but Eddy was really good last year and got paid a pretty good amount. I'd like to see him shake it off and hope that we mostly have him kicking XPs like we have been. He's gotta get more consistent a them tho.

As for Jack Jones...it's been ugly for sure. Don't know if Hobbs is the answer since we don't know wtf he can do in our defense. Could be a worse option then you burn an IR designation to return on him. I'd give Prysock a chance but hoping Stout is back so we don't have to see either on the field as much.

Cooks is on borrowed time for sure. A vet who isn't playing like one is kind of useless. Though I don't know who I'd get rid of first him or Cowing. I think if we start getting healthy at the position both will be goners.

I see no reason to add a WR. We will get back all of ours, except Pearsall, and we are playing for a trophy not just a decent regular season record. We'll be fine there.

My hunch is we get Brian Thomas Jr. You heard it here first

Well Rams could use him since Adam's will be out pretty much for the season.

You only add a WR if he's another #1 type talent.

I like the talent but I just don't trust the person. How does a guy drafted in the first round and puts up a very impressive nearly 1300 yard 10 TD rookie season suddenly turn into a scrub with a pretty good QB and playcaller? Like it just doesn't make sense unless he's not putting in the effort which is a talent killer.

He has no experience in this type of offense so what is the expectation for him? Is he better than how many of the guys we have now? I find it hard to believe they'd bring in a guy unproven in this type of offense who would likely command solid draft compensation simply due to his talent level and age.

My "people" here on the east coast seem to be buzzing about Thomas to SF for a mid round pick

The flip side to that is imagine how dominant we would be if we had a legitimate running mate to Evans? It also provides a back up to Evans should he not be available. Lets be real...we're 4-3 or worse WITHOUT Evans.
