We need something at this point.

New England Patriots Matt Judon was a franchise #1 edge rusher.

Dolphins/Bills Matt Judon? Not so much.

Yeah this was from 2022. Current Judon isn't even close to the same player. But he is a vet and a body which is what we need right now.

If nothing else he should be fresh from not going through a grueling training camp. He might not be fully conditioned but he's only gonna be rotational anyway so I think it works out.

He played 30 snaps on the bills lol. Had like 330 total snaps in Miami, that defense stunk across the board. Was he used properly there?

I don't think anyone is thinking we're getting 15+ sack Judon. I don't think he's completely washed just because
Fans need to stop thinking every free agent signing or every practice squad guy is going to step up and really help. If they do then great but the odds are slim. There's always a reason these guys are available or on the practice squad instead of starting somewhere. I never get excited over these signings or one good game by some guy that got moved up from the practice squad. I need to see a few games at least.

If he can get 5 sacks and be a good run defender I'd be more than satisfied. I'm expecting 2 sacks and veteran run defender.

You're acting like that was 5+ years ago? Some of those plays are from 2023. It's not like he had serious lower body injuries. I think his worst injury was a torn bicep in 2023.

get him on some stunts and he will create pressure.

Oh I don't disagree, I like the signing for sure. If he can give us 15-20 snaps that are decent that's a great thing

I think the 49ers have a decent track record with guys like this. He may not be amazing but if he can be a solid veteran presence that can hold up against the run and add a tiny bit as a pass rusher, thats the best they can hope for.

Chase Young and Leonard Floyd were criminally underrated by this board and our FO.

Every season in the NFL there's guys signed off the street who go on to do just that. If he can provide some solid snaps, especially as a run stopper, great.

Sign him up. If he can stay healthy he can pass rush.

I just want him to be awesome at setting the edge and decent at pass rush. Just a solid rotational piece that helps stop the run.

If he gives us 15 sacks & a 20% pressure rate, I'll be content with this signing. Other then that, 🗑
