Post-Game 49ers - Rams Sept 10 Breakdown

Posting this because I'm dying for those with more knowledge to post film and individual performance breakdowns! From what I saw, the game plan was superb. Offense - quick pass game to slow the rush and get the offense in rhythm. Let the O-line get going. --Balanced attack with CMC and Black was great to see; CMC's explosive runs to start the 2nd half set the tone --While Evans was valuable, be wasn't the deeper receiving threat I was hoping to see -- sideline catches and deep in-breakers. But that could have been related to the quick game 9ers used to avoid the rush. --Colby help up at LG as far as I could tell -- did Willis play at all? --Deebo looked way fresher that when he left in 2024. --Not a single pass attempt to Strib despite his high snap count to start the game - hmmm. Hope he's not out for a long time, the way his foot was hanging did not look good. Defense - To me it looked Bold - a lot of pressure looks on the line. But will have to see the breakdown. --Loved the Stout blitz --Was great to see so little PI called, and the one that was on Lenior was ticky-tack, yes he touched him, but didn't impede or spin him. --Warner with Greenlaw looked great --Safeties held up, Sigle loves to hit. But hope the film guys can point out details. Were they mixing Sigle, Mustapha, and Brown? --0 sacks, but lots of pressure --The run D was gouged early, but then held up. How did they fix that? How did these guys actually play? --How did the DTs do? The stop on the goal line was AWESOME. (and then a 99 yd drive) --Dugger got a lot of reps --Did Prysock get in? --The new DT they flew out last minute was in for quite a few plays right?

I hated the PI call but won't complain as I think the PI on Lenoir was just the Refs trying to balance their bad call on the chop block call earlier.

Greenlaw Looked pedestrian. Kittle didn't look too great either. Felt like the Oline rose to the occasion. Nice to see two decent RBs splitting reps. It was a good win, and it is early, but a few players are going to have to pick up their games.

Brock's pocket presence really stood out. The times he scrambled, it was the perfect time to as he had exhausted his reads. He stepped up into the pocket when he needed to. Great gameplan to open the game with all the screen passes with draw plays mixed in to keep the pass rush off balance. By the time the Rams were squatting on the short routes, Kyle dials up a straight 7 step dropback and DRob was wide open. There was no playaction, there was no double move from DRob, just a no nonsense deep ball at the perfect time in the game.
I'm very interested in knowing more about Morris' gameplan, but it definitely wasn't a high blitz gameplan. Was hoping to hear more of Osa Odig's name as a pass rusher, but maybe I just didn't notice.

Stafford was so off . Watching replays his throwing motion not the same . Seemed like he was shot putting and everything was under thrown

He's an old man who had just spent 15+ hours on a plane. Only the Rams are surprised that Stafford wasn't at his best.

All around good game and great,great game plan. with all the screens and mixing in CmC & K.B.

That Goal Line stand was EPIC!!I Believe it was Osa who blew that up and Warner cleaned it up.

Special Teams also Keeping in stride from where they left of last season.

Lasttime we played them they put 46 points up on us, the defensive improvement is unreal, the toughness and swagger Dre Greenlaw brings back is unreal, he is like our enforcer.

Holy sh*& - I didn't see that in the game. I have seen in some film breakdowns, there seems to be an unusual amount of times McKivitz doesn't have anyone to block. Is that true or just the randomness of film clips I've seen?

i dont have the entire game all 22 film so I dont know

But I do know Kittle does the grunt work that doesnt get headlines and he loves pancakes like this

Even if Kittle isnt at 100% he is still a net positive for the team because he blocks like a demon
