Undeserved in my opinion. That defense routinely gave him short fields with which to work.

Also, being "successful" is no excuse for stupidity. Newton's comments are ignorant and stupid. Brock has never been a checkdown thrower, that is one of his criticisms. But, those that don't watch, assume stupid things, and it comes out of their mouths.

It's no secret that Kyle's offense is QB friendly. Every QB that has played for him including when he was OC has had some of his better seasons. That isn't a slight on Purdy. It's just a fact. Darnold said he learned a lot in hs short stay in SF as a backup. JG had his best seasons by far.

I don't argue that, but I do argue the idea that Brock Purdy is a checkdown thrower. He is not. That is completely ignorant and stupid.
My thoughts on Cam Newton were in response to the idea that such ignorance is justified given professional success... it isn't, and that is poor thinking.

Deal is in just a 1yr $1.215m deal no GTD money and counts just $1.075m so he's not guaranteed anything as far as money or a roster spot
