Seems like more 49er players retire young than any other team. Are we wearing them out?
Greenlaw just literally said that Shanahan runs a much easier practice. They are not pushing them hard enough!

Borland was afraid of head trauma. Huff apparently wants to set up his own business. Willis was invalided out. Davis's story was a little odd, he retired twice but presumably had his own reasons, health perhaps being one of them. If we are wearing them out, then how do we account for Trent Williams? And McCaffrey is doing well for a running back. I can't see that they are being worn out. Anyway, Huff and Borland only played for us for a year. So no, I don't think so.

Seems like we may be in the middle of pushing too hard and not enough...and it's not working lol.
We've heard guys like Greenlaw say Denver/Payton run much harder practices and we've heard Tartt say Eagles run much easier practices.

Pushing players too hard????
Football this day and age with all the new rules and stuff is a joke compared to the past. No live tackling in practice must be pure comedy for our greats of the game. Long gone are the three a days; hell they barely get one a day with hour long practice lol

No and Willis had been here for 7 season before he retired at 30 that's a long time for a LB.
Huff, Boreland, Davis non of those guys had the love of the game like Willis nor his talent.

No. Willis (Super Human) played with chronic turf toe many years at an elite level but couldn't take it anymore
The others weren't passionate for the game or you could say were the total opposite of hard

It's the opposite. I live in Denver and they were talking about during the year that Greenlaw liked Shannahan's lax style more than Sean Payton's hard nosed style. Shannahan has a max of 90 minute practices with 30 minutes being walk throughs. Sean Payton is 3 hours with 0 minutes of walk throughs. This is what former players say at least.
