The 49ers were down 17-6 and making strides. A stop before the half and either a TD or FG gets us right back in the game at either 17-9 or 17-13 - either case a 1 score game now and getting the ball after half. It was 3rd and 2 and the 49ers got the stop they needed forcing a 4th and 1 and a Seattle punt after a run play deep in their territory. Instead, the ref called a defensive hold on our defensive lineman who was not even part of the play. And when was the last time you saw a hold called on a defensive lineman on a run play?
Seattle went on to score a TD and that was pretty much the game. Sometimes it just takes one play like this to change an entire game and I do think the refs know this. They saw the 49ers changing the prognosis of this game, and, in my opinion, were going to make sure that did not happen.
41-6....thats a 35 point blowout. One call wasn't going to change that with as bad a start as this team had and unprepared as they looked. It was such a beat down that they were pulling starters early in the 4th quarter when they could have kept adding to the score board.
