Take off the rose colored Niner glasses. Irrespective of the reasons, both teams are way better than us. Sure if we were fielding a healthy roster then maybe this is a debate. Standing the way it is right now, it's not even close. LA had their way with us. At no point was the game in doubt for them. We try to make it interesting in our heads and think about all the shoulda coulda wouldas but there wasn't any point in that game when we had the Ram on their heels. I reckon the same would be against Seattle.
We'll probably make the last seed in the NFC because we have a weak schedule and "should" win the next 4 games before the bye, but we're gonna get slaughtered by the first team we face in the playoffs.
Maybe you gotta take off the s**t colored glasses.
You didn't answer the question. If those teams are clearly better than the Niners, as you say, then how come they lost to them THIS season when the Niners were beat up?
"And standing the way it is right now, it's not even close". Yes, I don't think anyone will disagree with that captain obvious statement. The Seahawks and Rams, two of the healthiest teams in the NFL, are definitely better than the Niners' practice squad team. Riveting analysis, Doc!
You answered your own question regarding why we beat Seattle. We were a healthy squad. They were driving for the game winner. Nick Bosa forced a sack fumble on a 2nd and 5 inside the Niners 10 yard line.
We beat LA because they weren't prepared for Mac Jones and played soft coverage all night. Add two fumbles (one pretty much in the red zone and another at the one yard line) and that explains how LA self combusted.
Of course they adjusted masterfully this past weekend and pretty much ended the game before it even began.
Some of you homers and your hot takes
We don't need your armchair assessments of why the Hawks and Rams lost to the Niners. Who cares if the hawks were driving at the end or that the Rams were unprepared or couldn't protect the ball? Sounds like the kind of excuses their fans would make.
Funny how you downplay the Niners' wins yet call the Rams beating a practice squad team "masterful adjustment".
Wonder what corny excuses you're going to cook up if the Niners beat the Hawks in week 18.
Exactly N4L 👏 masterful against backups hahahaha to which they lost
Thanks, man. I just don't think this is the season to excessively complain about coaching. They are literally the main reason we remain in the playoff hunt. Before anyone say it's b/c of Mac, they need to first ask who is putting him in a position to showcase his strengths despite his past performances.
After the Bosa and Warner injuries, I would've expected certain disheartened fans to simply check out for the season and passively follow the team. Instead, they are here crying about past shortcomings and how much better the Rams/Seahawks are (which they are contigent on team health). We are still competing against those teams, even in last week's game. I think that's a testament to Shanahan and Saleh establishing a culture and belief that this team can compete no matter what.
SEA/LAR survived years of getting owned by the Niners and turned out just fine, and I like our chances with a regime that built a Super Bowl contender within two years of inheriting an absolute dumpster fire.
