I like the way the schedule is setting up. I WANT to play good teams from here on in. Play quality football now to set up the tournament. I hope Indy, along with Chicago, and Seattle to play us tough. Easy games against weaker teams tends to dull the performance.
I never expected to lose today (we didn't), but I felt, based on the past three games for the Titans, that they were a much better team than their record. They rang up 31 on that good Browns defense last week. Before that the Jags held them to 3, but we've now seen Jax is a pretty good team this year. Before that they went into the Seahawks house and hung 30-24 L on them. Against that background, today's game look like a good launching pad.
Don't stop to figure out how many games we can lose and still make the playoffs. If we limp into the playoffs that way, we won't last past the first game. Yes, we will need to stay healthy and the young defenders to get better. However, what sets up in front of us is a good way to settle in to playoff football.
I like it.
