The defense is just so dramatically better. It's night and day. We can stop teams now and get them off the field. We also hold down their points. Keeping us in the close games we are winning. Even as our offense is full of injuries and struggles. Not sure how good this team is. But the defense looks dramatically better. Along with a special teams that can catch kickoffs and punts and actually hit FG's. So we aren't killing ourselves on special teams. I doubt we are at the Eagles level and maybe some other teams. But we are so much better than last year. Weak schedule is also a factor. Keep in mind we already won several very close games. Glad we are winning those unlike losing them the way we did last year. But those can often go either way. I don't think we are dominant. But we are much better. How much better? We will find out when we face elite teams.

What gave me the most hope is the coaching change on defense. It really is night and day different. I definitely think the changes we made for the most part have worked out pretty good so far(and hopefully will only get better) but even when we have some personnel holes the scheme itself has made it much better for us on that side of the ball.
Hopefully we get some good news on Bosa's status because we desperately need his presence out there. Without him we have to play mistake free football and everything becomes that much harder for each DLman on the field.
The offense hopefully gets back on track when we start getting healthier there as well. Right now schematically it's a grind. Teams don't respect our receiving weapons and the run game is feeling it. Those boxes will hopefully get lighter as we get JJ back, Robinson coming off suspension and hopefully Kittle and Aiyuk getting back sooner rather than later.
We're about to enter arguably our toughest stretch of games. Jags are kind of a toss up but they have talent. Rams at home(even if it will be filled with 49er fans) and Bucs on the road will be probably the toughest 2 game stretches all year.
It's stressful as heck watching this team but man every time we pull out these gutty wins it's such a great feeling. Hope we can keep it going and shock everyone who doubted this team.

Very surprised by this. They are 12th in the league at 7.3 yards per attempt, so they aren't hyper efficient or anything. Still, very impressive with two starts by the backup QB and missing some of the top targets to injury.

Shanahan masterclass.
