Problem with that is it takes Bosa off the field, and why would you want to do that?

We'd save that for goal line situations.
If anything, we'll have a nascar package with DEs as DTs. I could see a pass rush lineup consisting of Huff - M. Williams - Gross-Matos - Bosa.
For DTs flexing to DEs, Al Collins would be the main one that did that in college. He'd be a quasi-Red Bryant in our scheme. Sam Okuayinou is a tweener DE/DT, so he could play that spot as well.
Otherwise, all of our DTs project best at the interior.

I mean Bosa does come off the field from time to time...but yes we're a better defense with him on the field.
We've certainly seen a few looks with Nick playing inside and us having good success.

There is a time, but I don't expect it often (as someone pointed out- no Bosa) or early (rookies gotta prove themselves).
If under some circumstance Bosa becomes the 5th best run defender, then I could see it.
Collins- Anderson- West-Elliot?

One problem with five man front is teams can catch you with no-huddle and you wont be able to sub in
Niners already sub a lot and when teams start hurry up and no huddle Ive seen them get burned because they cant sub back in someone like Bosa.
Now, sure, you only put up five man front again certain personnel, but there are teams in the league can threaten with passing all over even in 21 and 22 personnel
