Is it possible this team got better with Brown going out and Sigle coming in?

Sigle all around big plays tonight. Hobbled barkley made a couple BIG open field tackles.

We need to make a spy or will jr. role for him.

More impactful than wallow and bruised up winters.

Kendricks with multiple plays too. Keep him in beside bethune.

I'm impressed with how well he played tonight. His coverage was really good too.

BEEN saying this all year long... Mustaf's a freaking liability ... 36 must stay !! 6 must seat !!!

When Sigle was out there early in the season his coverage was really awful to the point he got benched. He definitely showed major improvement tonight.

U expect that from a rookie.. but he's played solid from what I remember... but 6 just will be USED especially against Seattle or Rams when we play them ..

mustafa was trash in coverage. I don't remember any big hits either.

Nah, Brown made a couple of key stops before he went out with an injury.

Sigle was drafted as a project player who showed his potential tonight. Good coaching works.

at some point you have to prioritize run d, sure tackling, and "x factor" aggression.

He gimpied up barkely with a savage, legal hit. No other defender we have can do that.

Sigle should be schemed as part of big nickle packages and short yardage or even blitz situations. If it means less time for brown Or mustapha so be it. .

I'm not saying anything about starting. but he needs to be better integrated into the game plan. He makes a difference.
I posted this before the game in the Kendricks thread

"This. IDK why people think he was bad in coverage. He has had better coverage than any other safety on our team this year, he just struggled at the point of catch. These other safeties are 5-8 yards off the receiver or taking atrocious angles routinely. I also don't understand why people think he's more suited as a SS... Is it because he hits hard/tackles well? If the argument is, we can't have him and Mustafa out there at the same time I strongly disagree, he is lighting fast with CB experience... It hurts to wonder where he would be in his development if we would've stuck with him... #JUSTICEFORSIGEL ...... #STARTSIGLE"

I think it's a bit dramatic acting as if he was terrible in coverage like some in here have stated. He is by far the best Safety on the team and frankly it's not even that close. Early in the season he had some trouble at the point of catch breaking up passes, but he was always in position to do so... That can be cleaned up.

Maybe the fans think Brown & Mustapha are better in coverage because when they give up big catches they're outside of the TV frame.... out of sight out of mind.

Subtract Brown and Winters, Add in Sigle and Kendricks, this is a completely different defense. Expect Sigle to start the rest of the season and all of next season.

I was screaming in the Seattle game to give Sigle a chance hoping he improved in coverage. I was tired of Brown's bad angles, lack of speed, and tackling. Sigle would at least bring needed speed and tackling and he did this week.
I never understood benching him early in the season. He was making plays just needed more experience to take better angles in coverage. Hes got tons of talent. That speed and tackling ability is something we've been missing on defense

He was really struggling. Out of 98 safety's he was rated #96 by PFF.

He played well yesterday. Maybe sitting helped him process the game better and get the mental aspect down. He has the physical tools.
Rather have him out there with his athletic ability than death by a thousand cuts with Brown.

Seems like Brown will be out anyways but I agree.

He was getting torched continuously. He is a very solid tackler, no doubt, but his coverage was really rough. Hopefully he keeps building on yesterday because brown is unlikely to play vs Seattle

I liked when we drafted brown but he's clearly a liability and his fundamentals are all over. Can't hurt to give sigle a shot and show off his development. He's also fresh - which our defense can use that injection.

im rootin for the rook

yeah, that's how it looks right now,.... still nothing official but KS said:

"So, I'm sure he'd be a long shot for next week, but we'll find out more on that tomorrow (Monday)"

and he won't be missed,... I will never root for an injury but this one has been a blessing for the team,... they weren't going to give Sigle a single snap in the playoffs (same way they didn't give him any in the last 10 games or so), sticking with Brown,.... and he's been a liability the whole season,... he's one of the reasons for the shortcomings of this defense

with Sigle on the field (and, of course, Kendricks at Mike) the 9ers chances at Seattle increase

He was literal burnt chicken in coverage. Much better showing last night

NOT that our secondary is ALL WORLD... everyone's still earning their stripes... and in my opinion Mustaf will make a great hit and there, but will also be the main target of every QBs and will be on the posters of every TEs in the playoff.

20 starting to shine
36 looks steady
0 is just consistent and savvy
2 isn't as good as he thinks he is
6 should sit
27 athletic but should not be a starter

Sig-Saeur WAS benched the old way, because MUSTAF was more familiar w/our D... but has once again proved me right, ... he's a coverage liability..

SIG MUST PLAY !!
