I'm wondering if the recent arrest of Browns RB Judkins will have an affect on the signings.

Would love to have this kid signed and in camp, but those top two 2nd round picks and their agents got fully guaranteed contracts. Every other 2nd round pick will wait until the next domino falls. If someone gets another fully guaranteed deal, this could take a while.

We should be proactive and offer an 75% or 80% guaranteed deal just to set a bench mark. I hate waiting on others to do something when they are all doing the same thing. You all end up standing around holding your dicks waiting for someone to make the first move.

Dude, the CBA REQUIRES that 78% of the 43rd pick contract is guaranteed already. They offered that on day 1. This whole thing is not about the players but the agents.

It's the players too. Players always ALWAYS think they are worth more than they actually are; it's just easier to blame the agents. If the players wanted to sign; they would, it's that simple. They could do it despite what the agent advises.

It should be a wake up call that anything can happen at anytime and nothing is "guaranteed" in life except death and taxes. Sign the f**kin contract

?? Then get signed and get into camp to help out.

Rookies are actively encouraged by the players association to keep out of contract talk as rookies. They CAN do it but they are heavily pressured not to.

At this point the agents are going to hold back their clients until someone else breaks because they can use it going forward for recruiting clients. The first agent that breaks it's going to cost them something in getting new clients. This could really be a hard line thing that might go a while if the teams don't give in.
The Seahawks are who everyone is watching most closely.
The team other teams are worried about is The Saints because they drafted a QB who is looking to start, so his agent has the most leverage to get that fully guaranteed deal at #40.

Is it considered a "hold out" if they do not report to training camp without being signed yet?

I think it's commonly called that, but I don't think it is to the CBA.

Staff wants to see him move around, participate in practice, not a game not a game, we talking bout practice
He's still dealing with a lingering calf injury which was reaggravated before getting drafted causing him to miss ALL rookie minicamp / mandatory minicamp and OTAs
"Alfred Collins' calf injury is more concerning than Pearsall or Brown's. Maybe it's because we have no idea where it came from or when it was suffered"
He better show up for camp / learn the scheme... he's suppose to be a big part of the plan. He needs to show up for camp and let everyone know he's healthy and good to go.
He's not getting any guaranteed money. Not yet. Camp first then maybe...

Judkins' arrest is interesting in how it could effect this guaranteed money saga. Emmanwori is now the highest drafted 2nd round player without a deal, but Judkins is one pick after.
First of all this could delay matters, as the Browns are unlikely to sign him until they know more. It also could have the effect of players just wanting to get it done, a legal matter or a Non Football injury could ruin them before they get their deals signed as some guaranteed money is better than none which is where the unsigned guys are at now.
It puts the Browns into a difficult position, they can't discipline someone not under contract, so their only options are to pretend it didn't happen, or choose not to sign him and effectively lose a 2nd round pick who was supposed to be the cornerstone of their running game!

If he's not getting any guaranteed money then he's not in the NFL. He has to get some guaranteed money by rule in the CBA.
