He gave Bosa a chance 1v1.

What is there to give kudos for. Someone else cane in to blow his guy up so he can actually get off a block. Kudos Mykel for Winters getting you free. Maybe Sunday you'll get off a block all by yourself.

Lol still bitter they didn't take your guy
Honestly he looks incredibly powerful and violent at the point of attack. Takes on and occupies and sheds blockers. He sets the edge well. Guys don't push him around much. As advertised. He upgrades our run defense a lot already. I just hope he is more than that for the #11 overall pick. His pass rush moves need to improve. He will work at it and hopefully get better.

Nope just like everyone else just don't like when they draft meh guys. This guy was never a pass rusher in college and shocker he still ain't.

"Only 21" "need more reps" good luck with that.
Like the Trey situation it was just about anyone else but.... it has nothing to do with who we didn't take. Everything to do with the guy we did take.

You seriously asked me to give kudos to a guy that needed help getting free. What are we even doing here?

This! Exactly how I feel. I said it pre draft. I said immediately after his pick. He's going to be good for us at what he's good at. So far he has been but you can find that waaay later than the 11th pick.

Tape wasnt all that great. and Im as big a Mykel fan as any. Id like a little bit more motor and energy actually.

With that said he logged more snaps than any other rookie DL we've had out there, and he had to play both edge and dt after basically not playing the entire camp or preseason. For most part kept his gap integrity if we're looking for silver lining. I wanted to say he kept contain, but that Darnold pass across the body, think that was on him not containing.

Agreed

You're still the same guy who needs instant gratification or it's all terrible.

There are different ways to rush the passer in the NFL. Speed rushers are sexy cuz they're quick and you can see clearly when they win the problem is many of them are liabilities in the run game or play themselves out of position.

The guy led Georgia in sacks as an 18 year old true freshman. Power rushers who rely on technique vs speed tend to take longer to find their stride when coming into the NFL. Making sweeping week 1 predictions on whether he was a good or bad pick is complete nonsense. Then again that type of post is nothing new for you when it involves players you didn't push for in the draft.

He's our new Arik Armstead on the DL, which is a much better comparison than Aldon Smith as some folks have referenced during and after the draft.

Lol. I argued Venon Davis wouldn't "revolutionize" the position. He didn't. I argued Trey wasn't it at QB. With Mykel I argued he would never be a 10 sack guy for us.

I dont recall having super strong feelings against other picks. I would say my arguments for the 1st 2 were correct.

The problem is when I make these statements a dozen people takes these comments and we go a dozen different directions then people remember other things instead of the original reasonings

Exactly. See people comparing him to others or saying he's going to be used like.... it's AA. That's what he's going to be here.

He honestly looks pretty good for what he does. Just not sure he is #11 overall pick worthy. Usually the guys who don't have natural pass rush moves or twitchy fast get off don't develop those. He's strong and powerful at run stopping and setting the edge. With length and brute strength. There is a use for that and on this team too. Just if you are talking top 15 pick you should be able to rush the passer. I didn't see it in College or the pros so far either. But obviously it's early. Hopefully he can learn some of that.
