Either way both guys have yet to prove they're worth top 15 selection at this point but have plenty of time to do that. We'll see who is the better player a few years from now. Hopefully Mykel proves to be that.

Yeah; vastly different player in that Jalon is actually an edge rusher vs an edge setter lol. Just answering the question that you asked. And you're right; 5.5 with the Falcons doesn't mean 5.5 with the 49ers, he could've put up more just as much as you are trying to insinuate that he puts up less; we both don't know. Walker had 1 sack through the first 7 weeks and Williams had 1 through 9 weeks; not sure what your point is there?

In any case you are right; both have yet to prove worthy of top 15 selections. I also obviously hope that Mykel turns out the better player; but I do think Jalon already is and will be the better pass rusher, to the original point/question.

Williams was asked to play tackle several snaps. He wasn't strictly an edge rusher. I'm sure that slowed hs develoment a little. Lynch commented on that last year after Williams was injured. He said that he had done a good job for a rookie being asked to learn different postions on the D line.

I think this is important becuase of how Raheem schemes the defense. I think Mykel is worth more to Raheem than to Saleh, in a sense becuase Raheem can use Mykel's versatility in a lot of creative ways. Saleh would (in my opinion) use Mykel to only set the edge and absorb double teams, I think Raheem (after more practice with Halton, Dugger, Height, and Osa) will use him more in stunts, and possibly even some rare drop zone coverages. I can see Mykel moving around the defensive line or looping around Height, etc... I think Mykel is a better Raheem scheme fit than a CJ West, in a sense.
I don't think Mykel was drafted to be an edge rusher, he is firstly counted on to set the edge on base downs and then secondly to move inside provide pass rush pressure on passing downs. I think he has the speed and agility to run TE stunts with Height and be effective like that, but mostly to provide inside pressure.

Bro, I was talking to you. "These", ostensibly would refer to people other than a person with whom you are talking to. But if that kind impatience describes you, then sure, I guess. If it doesn't, then no. I'm just saying in general our fanbase is full of terribly impatient people.

To our fan bases credit; I think it's all fan bases that are full of impatient people. That's the world we live in now in general; instant results I want it now.

Well Raheem marries the stunts with blitzes, so Mykel and Height/Dugger or Stout - depending on down and distance can be very effective in pressuring the QB. I don't think Raheem needs stud DT or DE that is exclusively a pass rusher, as he let's his scheme blitzes and stunts do the heavy lifting.

I think he needs that stud LB/Safety that can power his last minute post snap back end coverage changes against opposing QB's. That will really, in my opinon, take this defense to the next level.
