that sounds good, Charles Grant maybe too ?

Same as the last few drafts for us, we will trying to correct again over the next few years. I don't see dominant DL guys, I see guys that are polar opposites of the free agent guys we tried out last season.

These guys will need time to develop, and we have nothing but time so it's all good.

Hope it works out, but I don't see it. Reaching is the 49er way at this point.

Admit it, you don't watch college football, you don't know these guys from Adam, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

😂

ok, so why weren't you asking for us to pick Collins prior to him being selected if you watch so much college football? I've been watching college and NFL football since before you were born.

let me guess, your a 7on7 guy?
f**k. My LB.
LOL, if we would take Knight that early everyone would scream REAACCCCHHH
f**k
When our defense was good, it was great at stopping the run. Is a DT run stopper specialist sexy? No, but it was needed for this team. I get this team has a lot of needs but can't fill them all with one pick.

Unfortunately it's an incredibly weak LB class.
Paul JR will be the next pick if he is still on the board. There is a big dropoff at LB after him.

Exactly. And a pass rush is useless if you can't stop the run. You are not going to get many opportunities to get after the QB if you are constantly in 2nd and short and 3rd and short situations.

I can see us signing Mosley next week along with a few other FA's

I didn't expect them to draft an NT early, just like I don't expect them to draft guards early, just like a lot of people didn't expect them to draft safeties early based on their prior history.

That said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with either pick, they fill critical needs on the defense. They haven't had a true nose tackle like Collins since maybe....Soap? Getting a true run stopper up the middle, a guy with a high motor that can do so much to cause problems for an offense will free up Warner and the LB's to do their thing.

The league is trending towards prioritizing the run. Then, we see what this class is weak (qbs, wrs) and deep (dts, rbs) at and beefing up our front makes perfect sense.

They spent a lot of time with Bassa reportedly. Also met with Teddye Buchanan and a few others.
