Score on kick returns helps keep Purdy upright so there's that

We are a better team now than we were on Wednesday. We did a lot for our defense today and drafted some guys who may turn out to be sleepers.

I'm very happy that our defensive side got some added studs early. Could have added OL but Overall it's a good draft IMO.

Everybody said this was not a good year for OL.

Maybe get UDFA that weren't wasting a pick on..

That qb was a wasted pick. And the wr better be awesome special teamers because knowing Kyle that aren't seeing the field much.

7th round picks rarely make more than the PS. In this case, when he gets healthy, he will be a good backup with a high ceiling.

Lol screwed according to who? You?

Screwed in terms of drafting quality o-linemen.

None fell to us that were worth the value.

I mean its the 7th round. Historically 7th rounders have a less than 20% of sticking on the roster beyond two seasons.

I wasn't particularly enthused with the Watkins pick when there were still a few potential starter level prospects available.

By the time you get to the 6th its just throwing darts at the board blindfolded.

Swap Watkins for Mbow and I feel better about the group. Him and Grant were really the only two lineman I was interested in outside top 50.

So take that chance at more o line. I wanted o line in the 4th and 5 Th.

Mac jones.

I don't expect Jones to stick around if he can't beat out Purdy...which he won't.

It's obvious Jones us hoping to follow the Darnold career resurrection model as Purdy's backup (except for two years instead of one this time). I'd expect SF to keep bringing in such guys as the #2 for as long as Purdy is the starter. Heaven knows there are plenty ex-starter QBs looking to rehab their career each year or two.

That's what these people don't understand! These guys will be happy with ANYONE as long as its an oline position next to their name. They could've drafted Mike Crotch OT from Liberty and they would've been crying tears of happiness

Where is Mac Jones going to go? And in what universe is he beating out Purdy?

Jones is betting on himself. If he gets PT, for whatever reason, and does well, he will go elsewhere. In the meantime, the 49ers drafted a guy that would have gone higher except for injury.

Let the competition begin...
Seems to me they identified the team's biggest need is the D line. Brought out the big guns early in the 1st half of the draft. Filled that out and then pot shots from the end of the 4th round on.

Definitely. We have a real Dline rotation. Secondary got a boost. Linebackers got a boost. Got some guys who may contribute on offense/special teams. Just need to address redzone scoring and the separation problem with receivers.
