2026 free agents

I don't think we have been talking about about this enough.

QB- Brock Purdy
TE- George Kittle
WR- Jauan Jennings
RT- Colton McKivitz
LG- Ben Bartch / Spencer Burford / Nick Zakelj
C- Matt Hennessy
DE- Yetur Gross Matos
DT- Jordan Elliot
DT- Kevin Givens

Purdy is going to get paid. Kittle should be extended but I also think we need to extend Jennings and McKivitz. Maybe that's why we have been clearing room. These guys all need to be kept around.

Then with YGM, Elliot and Givens free agents we have to get young guys in the draft.

Also it's a good possibility that our starting LG and C are both free agents.

Lynch has some work to do.

That's the thing though…we have to think ahead especially in the draft so we have replacements on the roster incase some of those guys leave.

Id add McKivitz. He's an average tackle at this point. Give him a modest deal so we can focus solely on replacing Trent and a swing tackle that can push McKivitz. I hope they extend Jennings, Warner, Kittle, and McKivitz. It will only cost more a year from now and it's hard as hell to find an average tackle. Kansas City signed Jaylon Moore for 15 million a year. This is where we are with the OT market. Extend all four.

I think we should at least see who we draft this year.

This regime has stayed ahead of pending key free agents for the most part pretty well. OT has been the one spot that's really made me nervous, especially with Moore getting starting money with KC. There is no real backup plan right now and I have to imagine it will be a priority this draft along the DL moves. But right now we need depth at OT, we need starters on the DL so we'll see how they balance that out.

i think really the only guys on that list that will need to be extended or replaced as they are key contributors or starters are JJ and McKivitz.

Fully expect Purdy and Kittle to get their contracts done. All the DL guys are depth pieces and can either get another cheap extension or replaced via draft/lower FAs next year. Same with the LG guys.

Hennessy hasn't even played for us yet so who knows if we need to replace him.

I definitely wouldn't mind if some of our PS guys made a jump. Would love nothing more than to hear that Drake Nugent made a huge leap in year 2 and stole the starting job at center. Or the buzz on Owens' kid wasn't all BS and he gives us even half of what his pops did and we get JJ's replacement.

Either way and long story short - hard to say what is a concern now when we haven't even seen how this roster looks going into training camp.

Totally agree. Just saying they shouldn't just let McKivitz walk. League wide, teams are not developing tackles well. Imagine if the 49ers signed Jaylon Moore for 2 years 30 million. This is where the league is.

As long as McKivitz agrees to a reasonable deal, keep him. He should be pushed by a draft pick from this years class. If he wins the RT spot again, cool we got an average starter there. If he loses the job, we have a quality backup at swing T.

Most teams have to make decisions every year when it comes to releasing players and signing new ones. it's just part of the game now. Guys that handle contracts are almost as important as the HC and the GM.

Next year looks much easier than this year. We can take care of the guys we want to keep during the upcoming season.

Brock's gonna get his deal done soon IMO, Kittle will get done before TC, I think a Warner & Jauan extensions are possible, use rest money to carryover into 2026. Majority of these guys aren't big losses IMO, Team needs to find long term solution at C & LG, and opposite Bosa, and at DT & NT.

I think YGM is going to have a really nice season. Thought he was very effective when healthy last season. Not a star, but a quality player who can be part of a really good dline rotation.

That's like a wet paper bag FO can find their way out of, but right now they're in a zip lock tryna figure things out

Elliot / Givens won't be here next year and could even get dealt before this regular season. Bartch, Barford and Zakelj are band-aids and FO need to find replacements asap. FA is still ongoing and draft is around the corner + 2026 draft / FA will reopen (wide) the window.
