Slow the roll. Colby looked like Larry Allen in his first game, but really came back down to earth since.
Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't Colby the dude that pulled CMC into the end zone on our last TD?
And Hennessy was on the front side trying to push him in. Point being that the young fellas are playing to the whistle, unlike dopes like Brendel that just stand and watch after they get beat.
Exactly the doctor is right! Brendel just sits there and watches as he gets beat as opposed to Hennessy who has a lot more force especially in the run game. I think a lot of of us have been waiting for him to get replaced. I hope he never gives back this job and runs with it
The same rating service gave one of the Centers last night a run blocking grade of 78.3, other 64.1. Which is which?
They seriously did? Brendel has received good marks almost all year and he has been atrocious in most games
The dilemma is that Brendel has a season-long run blocking rating of 78.3, 6th highest in the league. Those high marks offset his poor PP and keeps him in the upper 25% of a very mediocre group of Centers around the league. As I have written before, there are only four Centers in the league that are above average in both pass and run blocking. All the rest are like Brendel, good in one and not good in the other.
The perception problem with Brendel stems from poor pass blocking performance. It is those very visible failures in pass blocking that has earned him disrespect. His superior run blocking efforts are hard to identify, yet Kyle must see them because if he was as bad in run blocking as pass blocking, he would not be the starter.
