Lack of Killer Instinct ?

Can everyone at least agree on this ? How many times did we have the chance to close this game out ? Whether it was coaching, player mistakes, botched schemes ? It's become a bad habit for this team dating back to the Super Bowl in 2019. Having complete command of the game, only to collapse in guttural fashion when it matters most. Im sick of it. I'm sick of having leads with little time left, and not being able to close out games. I'm sick of watching players get beat up in the trenches when all they have to do is hold down the fort. I'm sick off professionally paid players dropping balls that hit them in the hands when they have the opportunity to make a statement. I'm sick of coaches shying away from their strengths on offense, and not being able to adapt on defense when the needs arises. This team looks like it's going through the motions. Either they're convinced pre-game that they are just that good, and will win by just showing up. Or this is truly a Super Bowl slump, where the players have kind of given up because they think they've maxed out. Maybe it's time (after the season) for Jed to step in and finally force some changes. Losing to a preseason squad like we did today cannot be as simple as making some tweaks in some of our coaching philosophies. It seems like there's a bigger picture at stake.

One thing that you missed is when Deebo isn't playing the energy of this team just seems totally off.

But it shouldn't be. Why can old man Stafford who was seeing ghosts at times and calling his own sacks during the game muster enough energy for his team and get them to win, and we can't just because we're missing Deebo ? On a roster full of stars (proven yet again today with how Brock and JJ played), why do we lack energy ? Guess the SB slump is real…

Or maybe just maybe this team isn't as talented as they think they are. Outside of purdy what have we seen from all the money we spent? The defense is broken as a whole and it's not going to get better. No preasure, no corners , no safety. The DC is getting heat but you can't scheme if you don't have players that win matchups. We are 1-2. Maybe 2-2 next week but then what? We are likely looking at being 2-5. Seattle and the midget led cards look better than us. Not yo mention KC.. 2-5 is very real. That loud noise you hear is the superbowl window slamming shut.

Zona will be us. Murray too mobile for our lackluster defense to scheme against. They did a number on the Rams last week. No way we don't get blown out by them. We will beat NE (and the masses will jump back on the Shanny bandwagon), and Geno is a statue so I expect us to beat Seattle. I don't think we will beat Dallas or KC, so it looks like a 3-5 record going into the bye…

IF we make the playoffs, it will be through the back door. Meaning road games vs possible Detroit, Minnesota, GB, Dallas, NO, or even an east coast trip to TB.

i think it's safe to say the window is officially closed…
