It's pretty much confirmed he will need surgery (Deebo signing and Matt's report). I honestly don't see a place for him as a WR on this team in the future and this isn't his first injury (had a shoulder injury his rookie year before being shot) and had some soft tissue injuries as a sophomore in TC. It's best to release him and just admit he's a bust. Will we save money/lower dead cap hit if we release him today or do we need to wait? Maybe AB can chime in?

Not too sound pessimistic but it is what it is. We need healthy players and he simply cannot stay healthy especially for a 17 game season (in the future it will 18 games). It does not matter how talented he is if he can't stay healthy enough to play.

I feel bad for the kid im not sure if its a botched surgery or why the PCL didnt heal it sucks he is still dealing with the injury from last year

I would rather him get surgury ASAP not sure what recovery is ls like but instead of rolling the dice every time he is on the field i would rather hope he just takes care of it now and i hope hes back for late season

Never had surgery. Its suppose to heal in its own.

It sucks because everytime he is on the field he has produced the only exception was when he was playing on this PCL at end of last year

Some dudes just arent made for the physicality of the nfl. With our luck he'll go on another team never get injured and have multiple thousand yard seasons. 😒

this isnt the physicality to me that would be more bruised rubs or broken fingers etc

ligaments are entirely different and its kust a freak thing this isnt even a new ligament issue its just the same one as last year that didnt recover its just unlucky

There would be no point to cut bait yet. He has another year guaranteed at a low number.

We do this all the time on here. If the majority of the webzone had their way Jimmie Ward and Arik Armstead wouldn't see year 3 of their 49ers careers, let alone be around as long as they had been.

We've seen Pearsall can play at a high level. The urgency some have to get rid of the kid is weird. Reality is still that two injuries have caused him to miss time in real games - getting shot in the chest and the PCL injury which was a fluke.

That's why this is so frustrating. Guy never missed a start in college and he was there for a bunch of years. Joins us and the craziest crap goes down and he can't even get over the last injury a year+ later.

I agree.He has promise but the problem is he is missing valuable reps. He is not a veteran.

I agree. But his luck, when it comes to being available to play NFL football, is bad, Boss. It just really is.

As frustrated as the fans are, imagine how bad Pearsall feels. Rehad can be worse than the injury. I had surgery back in March and it left a large wound on the back of my leg. I was told there would be minimal bleeding and it would heal quickly. Three months later I was still wearing bandages and visiting the wound clinic every 2 weeks. Surgeries don't always heal the way they're supposed to even when treated properly.
