But you brought up a player who got all pro for a different position.
A #1 is a player who can start on any team(very few exceptions). There are MAYBE 3 WRs in history who could take a starting spot on the 98-01 Vikings team.

Think what 9 moon is saying is he'll always be a slot and he's not a go get it kind of guy kinda like Puka Nacua? Idk either way him trying to explain his point fell mute especially with the John Taylor talk. I can easily see Pearsall becoming another Ayuik

I hope so but I haven't seen make many plays on the outside to be able to make that claim

He's probably best in the slot, but so are a ton of top end WRs that you could call WR1s. ASB and Lamb come to mind.

I think BA is more physical than Ricky. He is better vs press on the outside and provides more YAC. Different guys that can lineup all over the palace.

I don't think we've seen enough of Pearsall to make any final judgement on how good he'll be and what position he'll play. With all he went through just to get on the field last season he's still a work in progress. With Aiyuk possibly on the IR to start the season the the NIners willl need him to step up.

This would be the year to see it while or if Ayuik is out I'd like to see Pearsall take snaps outside. Think the idea is him to be the slot but I can see him being successful on the outside as well

na na na na... my initial post was super clear.. I said Ricky may become an All Pro, but he's NOT a ONE..

Then not even sure if it was YOU who said that AN ALL PRO IS A ONE !!

that's why I said JT was never a ONE... HOLT may have become an HOF just like Stallworth, but they were never a ONE..

I gave u all the players who were ALL PROs but never was a ONE..

This is awesome that you can speak / translate 9moon posts. You will do the WZ a huge service if you can break down his posts for us who don't speak 9moon

If Holt is not a #1, what is YOUR criteria for a #1 WR?

Is/was Davante Adams a #1 WR?

Watkins and Cowing might struggle to get separation in short routes but Pearsall did that okay ... that may make it easier for Pearsall to be outside when either of the speedsters are on the field depending on the route package they are using.

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned is that the run game is going to suffer in 3 wr packages without Deebo and Aiyuk out there. I wonder if we'll see more 21 personnel until Aiyuk comes back, or 12 if one of the other TEs shows they can block and receive too.

Prime Julio Jones or Megatron are the only "true #1s" in recent history

I'm curious too what his definition of a "ONE" is. I'd consider Torry Holt a #1 WR.

Yes good take, I would add the Pearsall is still getting his feet wet so hopefully he will progress to the physicality of Ayuik.i think they both run good routes but Ayuik is a better blocker right now. In my opinion Pearsall has more upside than keeping Deebo due to his route running.

Ain't no telling what a WR1 is for moon but to me a WR1 is a guy who can be the #1 WR for most teams today. Keyword being most. There are several WR1s in today's NFL. Jefferson, Chase, Puka, St Brown, AJ Brown, Lamb just to name a few. If you make the All Pro team then its pretty likely your a #1 in my book. Maybe some exceptions but the majority are #1s hence the all pro nod.
