49ers sign DB/ST Chase Lucas

NYniner85 · 2024-03-15T09:56:32-07:00

The #49ers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with DB/special teamer Chase Lucas, according to his agent @thelawmvp. The #Lions' 2022 seventh-rounder heads to Santa Clara after two seasons in Detroit where he performed particularly well as the team's gunner on punts.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) March 15, 2024

Whatever. A punt gunner. The focus is misplaced yet again.

It's fine to get. But there are bigger problems.

Yeah a DB that can actually contribute as a DB would be nice.

That's funny - it almost seems like it with this team.

Lynch and Shanahan are football guys - they know games are won & lost in the trenches.

They saw firsthand in the playoffs three pretty dominant OLs, GB, Detroit & KC.

There's still a lot of time left to improve this team's OL and fully expect that to happen in the upcoming draft.

One of these years our ST is going to make a difference in a positive way. Not much really to say about a ST signing.

Free agency at that position usually consists of overpaying for average talent. I'd rather address it during the draft. This draft is too deep in O-Linemen to not at least come away with a couple of guys.
