A couple of things stand out to me so far in preseason. It's alarming that the 49ers don't seem to have the depth that you would hope for on a team that isn't paying top dollar to their starting QB. The team is going to be over reliant on their starters to avoid injuries and somehow not fatigue midway through the season.

The problems that caused this is the drafting of Trey Lance, well not him in particular but the unnecessary giving away the farm bidding against yourself. Could have stayed in the same position and got him. Those picks could have built some depth.

Also we cannot look to always sign and keep everyone at top dollar. The salary cap needs to be managed better.

Too many poor draft choices made. Sometimes trying to be the smartest in the room will backfire. Just make the obvious pick at the right time, after all this was supposed to be a Super Bowl roster.
