Slot Corner position?

Since Jimmy Ward played the position last year and was normally a free safety is it out of the question for that position to be filled by safety from this point going forward or should it always be cornerbacks? I ask for 2 specific reasons please advise

If Eman is re-signed, I expect Lenoir to be the slot guy with Womack as the #2 if Lenoir struggles or gets hurt.
