Christian McCaffrey (calf) was limited on Thursday.
Teams often give veteran players, particularly older running backs, days off at the first sign of irritation or discomfort, so it is entirely possible this is simply the 49ers acting out of an abundance of caution. McCaffrey does have a history of calf and Achilles tendon issues dating back to Week 17, 2023, so managing his practice load is prudent. Tomorrow's injury report should help clarify his Week 1 status. In the meantime, fantasy managers are advised to pickup Brian Robinson if he available in free agency.

Yeah hate to say it but I think that's getting closer and closer, especially with a family now.

Guarantee you Kyle knew for a while, hence the Robinson trade.

Well time to change the projection for this season to 5-12 …. Seems the curse is not over.

Normally I'd say everyone is overreacting, but… it was a calf injury that started last season's constant cycle.
I'm very concerned right now that the whole "he's fine and better than ever!" narrative over the past few months was just a bunch of force-fed BS

Out of all holdout and contract drama, THIS was the contract that general public should have been worried about and yet was the least concerned about at the time...
