He went from best RB in the league to looking up to Barkley & Henry in one year.

2023 CMC. yes i doubt he runs back a year like that. now i think he will have maybe 1 more strong season. he turns 29 this summer. that is a milestone for running backs, as it is 1 year before 30, which is a milestone for running backs.
all bets are off when a rb hits 30.

CMC is injury prone and likely to blow up on any given play on any given Sunday.
We should draft:- Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

If we weren't so depleted on defense, I'd love to take Jeanty.
That's something we really can't afford through.

Good to hear. Let's focus on OTAs and training camp and not extending contracts like last year.

Every RB is injury prone. You think the Eagles are gonna hold back on using Barkley any time next season?

He should be fresh and well rested practically taking the entire season off

He should continue to show signs of explosive ability but at his age and wear and tear he's never going to be a successful full time back that can stay healthy all season long. He will be our starter next year unless he gets injured again but we need to seriously be working on his replacement asap.

Barley has only played a full season his rookie year and this year. Every other year he has missed games with injuries.

Exactly my point. You don't see Eagles fans wringing their hands over his use this season. You use the talent you have when you have it and manage it the best you can.
(Barkley had 345 rushes and 33 receptions this season. CMC had 272 and 67 in 2023.)

to flesh this out a bit.
saquon
345+33 = 378 + 73 postseason = 451

CMC
272+67=339 + 78 postseason = 417
in any event, this is league where christian kirk makes more than saquon. RB went so cheap it was pretty high value for savvy GMs. i think that will correct soon.
