hol up, we are treating a third party (who hasnt spoke with purdy) that is just providing an opinion from the couch that he needs TJ surgery as breaking news as if it's set in stone?

No, he's still really young so he has a strong chance of bouncing back but that would mean an entire missed year of development as a QB which hurts considerably.

Doctors often have differing opinions on how to deal with injuries. That's why Brock is getting more opinions. TJ would take him out for all of next year but it may be the best option for him in the long run. We've seen too many of our players trying to let injuries heal or taking a shortcut only to have the injury linger or require more surgery. If he can't play next season they will need to find a backup. Maybe they draft one or go the free agent route. Maybe both. In either case the door will be wide open for Trey. Time to sink or swim.

This is an opinion of a doctor, not a report from his doctor/team/ or Brock.

Right but the odds of a QB tearing their UCL from being hit are pretty tiny, which is why its such a rare injury for quarterbacks. Purdy got hit in the exact wrong spot at the exact wrong time.

Just asked magic 8 ball online..typed in the question, "Will Brock need Tommy John?" Clicked to "shake" the ball. The answer, "my sources say no". There ya have it. 8 ball has spoken and I am sure the sources are credible.

And honestly,...if he chooses that if it's on the table,..I think it's the smarter move. Rest on your laurels for a year while you're not really being paid sh** anyway. If there is a year to miss it is probably this or next year of your career. Even if another guy takes your spot you're a commodity now, IMO. Someone's always wanting a QB.
