Yep you're going to see missed plays

Not sure why Purdy is doing this. I posted right before the game that he needs to go back to 2022 and hit the open guys and not worry about his friends

He threw to Watkins later in the game and it arguably cost us the game, because Watkins couldn't hold onto the pass in the endzone.
That is BS. He needs to throw to the open guy regardless of the name on the jersey. Watkins caught the ball and it wasn't an easy one to catch.

According to the refs he did not catch the ball. It doesn't matter if a guy gets open if he drops the ball when you throw it to him in big moments.
So he should throw to the other team instead? You are making absolutely no sense.

Those are not the only two options. He's not going to throw it to guys that f**k it up every time he throws it to them. He'll hold the ball and wait for a guy he trusts to get open or run it himself.

Brock played bad. Lived up to the criticism and didn't help the team today. He wasn't the only one. Complete team meltdown. He doesn't get a pass. Turnovers lose games. Penalties lose games. Stupidity loses games we had all of that. No excuse for losing today. Championship teams don't do what witnessed. They find ways to win not invent new ways to give it away. Horrible game.

Its not about "friends", its about trust. He releases the ball before the receiver makes his cut. He has to trust the guy is going to make the right cut or its a pick. He doesn't trust these guys yet because they're WR6-WR7-WR8 type guys on the roster. It looked like he started to get some rhythm with Watkins today, but they need time to develop chemistry.
guys are open, he's not in the business to having trust. just throw to the open guy

As much of a good processor I keep hearing Brock is, you would think this would be automatic. Maybe he doesn't trust his arm?
he had no problem with it before except the 2024 season, but you got to get other guys involved. He was doing well this season, and it's just today and last week. So i don't expect it to continue

All teams lose some games. All teams lose games like that. Good teams just do not make it a norm.

That's actually funny. So ignore open guys and just hold it or throw it away. Wow. You should be our new oc. We can't lose with that thinking. By the way he was talking up Watkins all week. So he was just lying to everyone? Give me a break. Insanity.

Either a QB is good or he isn't. He can't be the best in the league one week and garbage the next. Purdy didn't have a terible game. He made one bad decison that got intercepted. The other one was a good defensive play. His biggest problem was he had no receivers he could trust because he hasn't been working much with them. Your 5,6 and 7 receivers don't get a lot of reps. Watkins was just activated, Cooks hasn't been there long and fans have been calling for Cowings to get released. Not exactly a premier group.

This. Most obvious difference this season has been the cut in turnovers. Not great today in that context but not anything to panic over. Had a head scratcher on the first…not really characteristic of him… and got fooled on the 2nd (where the defender also made a great catch)

Purdy isn't going to criticize a guy in the media.

He is a good qb just not good today. Why did we sign Kirk? So he can literally have zero attempts and zero catches? Watkins was not horrible. He was open more times than he got looks. just disappointed in the effort today.

It's tough when the team is void of talent. I agree.

With mcaffrey hobbled even shanahan can't make the players more talented through scheme.

Somebody has to be better than somebody else on their team consistently to even move the ball at all.

Without evans and mcaffrey I honestly don't see anyone today who could.

The only player who seemed remotely talented was watkins. They should have given James more looks at rb.

Even kittle is a shell of himself. He can't break tackles anymore and is a step slower...

Basically purdy was the most talented player on offense and you don't really want to have him running designed runs in the middle of the season...

Shanahans always been terrible at giving any players he doesn't trust plays so expecting him to shift to watkins or James mid game is way over his head.

He was bad today. Costly pick. Missed guys open. Again we don't need to act like he wasn't bad when he was. Every great QB has a bad game. Brady, Montana, Elway. S**t happens but I wish people would stop acting like when Brock is bad it's because of XYZ. Sometimes you just play like s**t.

That's different from talking a guy up then ignoring him in the game. For the record I don't think he did, I just think he wasn't reading as well as he usually does. He had an off game. He missed open guys. He threw interceptions. It's ok to admit he had a s**t day. I am sure he would be the first to say he needs to be better, Blaming everyone else doesn't actually change the fact he played bad today.

He had decent game but certainly not as good as he's been having. He threw for 288 yards but the INTs hurt today. I would say it was a bad game if he had been throwing to Evans and Deebo instead of Watkins and Cowing. Watkins may develop over time but he hasn't played enough to develop any chemistry with Purdy. I wa shoping to see more from Cooks but I don't know if he has much left in his tank.
I mean it was a bad game. The two picks were pretty bad ones. No matter who we had or didn't have playing.

He will be fine going forward. I don't think there is any reason to panic. I was surprised that he didn't use his legs very much today.
