Brock Purdy says NFL quarterbacks can't actually see where they're throwing nearly 40% of the time, and explains why processing information is more important than having a strong arm.
"My quarterback coach, Brian Griese, the last couple years, he and I talked about that. He played 11 years, his dad's Bob Griese. But we got talking about how really it's 60/40. You can see about 60% of the time, and the other 40% you really can't. I mean, it doesn't matter how big you are."

this mic's up kinda gives a little insight into what's going on in Brock's inner world. Just listening to his breath during play you can tell there's a rhythm to everything he does. The calm, fluid movement. There's not a hint of uncertainty. Like watching a Jedi in action.

He hasn't completed 90% of his passes. His completion % is very good at 67% for the year but he hasn't hit 90%.

I think the time has come to put an end to all of the Brock "still has to prove...A, B, C" talk, at least in a 49er's forum. Leave that to people like Grant Cohn and all of the other pinheads in the National media. From the newsfeed today:
Purdy reached several milestones during the game. He became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts, throw for at least 285 yards and two touchdowns, and score a rushing touchdown in the same game. That may sound awfully specific, but it emphasizes just how impressive the 49ers quarterback was in Week 2.
Purdy achieved two more milestones that highlight how well he has played through his first five NFL seasons. He has now accomplished two things no other quarterback has achieved. Purdy has 13 career games with a passer rating of at least 130.0, surpassing Russell Wilson, who had 12, for the most such games by a player in his first five NFL seasons.
At an even higher passer rating, Purdy still tops the list. He has eight career games with a passer rating of at least 140.0, also the most by any quarterback in his first five NFL seasons. Purdy surpassed Ben Roethlisberger and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Kurt Warner, who each had seven such games.
Does that mean he's going to be great in every game, or will never throw another interception, or will win three Super Bowls, of course not, but I think it's earned him the right not to be nit-picked by "fans" who somehow still seem to think that he isn't living up to their expectations.
