Take a look at Brock's stats over the few years that he's been with the Niners. He's on track to have the highest QB rating in NFL history. I believe last year he had the highest air yard completion percentage. And now, he's adding a scramble element to his game. Stop comparing him to other QB's in the league. Most of the "elite" QB's in the NFL haven't even sniffed a Super Bowl

Boom!!!!!

Pow!!!

Wham!!!!

Allen is a little faster and definitely stronger when he runs because of the size difference. His arm is much stronger. Brock can throw the ball 40-50 yards downfield but he has to put more arc on the ball so it takes longer to reach the receiver. Allen can throw that same distance and the ball is on a line.

That doesn't make Allen a better QB. He just has better tools. That's why nearly every GM and NFL fan would rank him ahead of Brock. Game management and processing are much harder to measure than size and speed but they can matter just a much.

I think (in my book) they matter much more than arm strength and size. But dont get me wrong arm and size does matter. But only up to a point, before the law of diminishing returns kicks in. For example - So what if a guy can throw 150 yards, the field is only 100. So what if the player can run a 4.2 in the forty, a QB's main function is to stay in the pocket or hand off. Just sayin...

I agree except arm strength isn't about how far you can throw. It's more about how quickly the ball arrives. Less air time gives DBs less time to recover if they get bet. Like I said Brock can throw the ball 40-50 yards (most QBs can) but Allen's ball will get there quicker. Foot speed only matters if you like to scramble a lot and then only once you get into the open field. Around the pocket foot quickness is more important than flat out speed.

Meh, the football field is about 54 yards wide. Line up 8 guys across the field in A straight line and thats about each person covering about 7 yards per person. I'm not even talking about *depth* either. Accuracy is more important than arm strength.

Again arm strength and athleticism is important up to a point. A QB does have to get the football in those 7 yard windows (again assuming a straight line). I think Steve's longest throw with a step up and full windup was about low 60yards/high 50 yards. (it was a QB throwing competion) But I go back to what Walsh wanted in his QB's. The ability to diagnose and throw accurately. He won a lot of Superbowls with that.

All three of our QB's on the roster can easily throw 50 yards. They've shown it on film.

And a cherished trait among the great QBs that is often overlooked is the Presnap Reads. Being able to adjust the offense based on what the defense is showing.

Brock vs Allen for the league MVP this year. it'll be a fun ride to see how it plays out. We are going to start 7-0 going into the bye week. it's going to be a beautiful thing.
Miami's defense is so young and inexperienced, Kyle is going to have those guys spinning in circles.

Love Brock but people thinking he is anywhere near Josh Allen have terminal homeritis. 100 out 100 GMs will take Josh over Brock. As a niner fan I would take Josh and never look back. We can love our qb but let's be serious

You would think as gifted as Allen is, you gotta wonder why Buffalo hasn't been in the Super Bowl yet? It's not like he hasn't had good defenses backing him up or a good O-line, RB and so on.

lol

100 out of 100 GMs in the 80s woulda taken Marino over Montana, Manning over Brady in the '00s… who cares

Agreed ,meaningless but based on actual performance not speculation Josh is the better athlete and qb. That's was my point. I just wanted to keep it honest. You put Josh on this team and we are polishing trophies for years to come. Then again, with our injuries we probably wouldn't.

Here's hoping! Though I'll gladly trade league MVP for Brock winning SB MVP.
