4. Sam Darnold
5. Drake Maye
6. Patrick Mahomes
7. Jared Goff
8. Caleb Williams
9. Brock Purdy
10. Trevor Lawrence

one reason i have us as champs I think stafford is getting past the sell by date, i think these lists are pretty much impossible to do as nfl is so situational, darnold is a good example ppl told me he was not good enough to be our backup and they are scared he if he had to play for us and then he wins more games than any QB last 2 seasons and the bowl in our stadium, it's all about getting hooked up to good situations, steve young proved that also

Totally agree with you. The fact that Darnold was good in two different systems (granted he had Justin Jefferson and JSN) is the reason he is one of my top 5 QB's. And you could kind of say the same for Caleb Williams, in two different systems he showed he can make good decisions. In Williams first and second seasons he thrown only 13 picks, IMO that's damn good.

People are entitled to have their rankings based on whatever they want. That's the beauty of rankings...you can't really argue with someone's opinion.

But I will say "two different systems" is a stretch. He's been in pretty much the same system since he got to the 49ers.

Also let's not forget similar to Goff when Vikings needed Sam to step up and carry the offense it wasn't pretty. Brock has had some ugly games for sure but he's never looked shell shocked out there like those guys have. Putting Darnold and Goff ahead of Brock to me is a major no no...but Kolohe is entitled to his opinion like I said.

Tho not having Lamar or Burrow in the top 10 to me is trolling.

I think not having Burrow in the top 10 is a result of his availability. Lamar dropped significantly in a players poll this year. His 3-5 record in playoffs may be why.

CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani recently ranked the NFL's best and worst quarterback situations entering the 2026 season, placing the 49ers at No. 1.

"Brock Purdy is the coolest story in the NFL," Dajani wrote. "The final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft came in and led the 49ers to the NFC Championship game as a rookie, despite receiving his first professional start in Week 14 that year. In Purdy's first full season as a starter in 2023, he set the NFL record for most yards per attempt (9.6), set the franchise record for passing yards in a season (4,280), made the Pro Bowl, and finished fourth in MVP voting."

Dajani also highlighted Purdy's career 104.0 passer rating, which ranks first in 49ers franchise history—a remarkable accomplishment given the organization's rich quarterback tradition

"A whopping 58.3% of his third-down and fourth-down attempts went for first downs in 2025," Dajani continued. "That was the highest success rate by any quarterback over the past 35 seasons. Kyle Shanahan obviously deserves credit for that stat as well."

You can't compare completion % or passer rating from today to QBs in the 80s. The game is much differentg and tilted mor ein the favor of the offense. All ratings and completion percentages were lower 40 years ago.

If the need to provide a qualifier to one aspect of that list of accomplishments was all you took from them then I don't know to tell you. Yes, the game was different 40 years ago, but that doesn't diminish Brock's accomplishments in real terms, as opposed to the relative ones you put forth.

this is a very true point. i think jimmy when he left 49ers was top 10 all time in rating.

in fact he still is. he's 9th all time rated, even ahead of tom brady. so maybe we should just do away with qb rating. it's a very bad stat, probably. tua is right there with steve young.

is there a qb more overrated than justin herbert in our lifetime?

i like herbert quite a bit. to me i think burrow is overrated no offense, but he's not joe cool first off, that name is taken. then in college he plays with justin jefferson and jamarr chase. then in the pros he plays with chase and higgins. i think pretty much any functional QB would pop off with those wide receivers. he also seems to be sacked endlessly and i think some of that is he's not doing the right stuff, get the freakin ball out or send someone hot no excuse for that crap even if your OL sucks don't take those sacks, dirt the ball at someones feet at least

There is no such thing as a players pole.

He's referencing the yearly top 100 list, for whatever it's worth.

I think Lamar probably dropped in that list because he missed a quarter of the season and his production was down.
Brock gonna Brock

I'm looking forward to this season it should be a good one. Going to be fun to watch Purdy and his new teammates. Let's see if this OL shapes up and can actually give Brock more than 2.1 seconds in the pocket. Evan's gives BP a weapon that he hasn't had, and Kirk isn't too bad either. Defense should be better this year also with returning injured players. A few weeks and TC begins. Go Niners

There was a player that said he's never seen anyone come in and ask all the players to vote on something like that. That is just a media entertainment thing.
